Ed Alvarez is an education leader with 25 years of experience, including the chairmanship of the board of the National Hispanic University, the Foundation for Hispanic Education, the Latino Education Advancement Foundation, and English Together. He is a University of Santa Clara trustee emeritus, a founding member of Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School, and a former member of the Board of Directors of San Francisco Bay University. Mr. Alvarez has been recognized for his work by several organizations, including the Latino Business Leader Award from the San Jose Business Journal. He is also the author of the San Jose Spotlight article, Equity in Education. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Silicon Valley Equity in Education Institute and as President of SFBU Education, Inc., an AI-focused product developer.

Mr. Alvarez has a background in law, accounting, and sports management.
