As CCP Program Coordinator, Luz brings more than five years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a background in coordinating community-based education and family support programs. A graduate of the University of California, Riverside, she earned a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education. Her experience includes program coordination, community outreach, workshop facilitation, partnership development, and supporting students and families through connections to resources and services.

As a first-generation Latina, Luz feels a personal connection to LEAF’s mission and the students and the families she serves. Her own experiences navigating higher education have given her firsthand understanding of the questions and barriers that can arise when pursuing college without a roadmap, as well as the importance of having someone in your corner along the way. At LEAF, Luz is dedicated to supporting first-generation Latinx high school students and their families, helping them navigate their educational journeys and feel empowered to pursue their goals.
